Walmart adds custom CD service

Walmart.com added a custom CD service which allows you to build your own custom CD from over 400,000 songs. This is not a new idea. Other sites have been doing this for a long time, but this is the first time I've seen a major chain pick up the idea. The process seems to be pretty tight but there were a couple of interesting things that I found while browsing it. First - the top 100 songs seem to have repeated titles in it... that's kind of sloppy. Next - this may be a cheaper way to grab an artists album rather than purchasing it, especially if the album has less than 11 tracks. Walmart charges $4.62 for the first three tracks and an additional 88 cents per track from there on. An eleven track CD will cost you $11.66, this is sometimes much less than the full CD from an artist, of course you won't get the artwork or the pride of displaying the CD in your 1,000 CD rack. =)
